BIOGRAPHY
CB Dressage was born from a shared vision between Borja and Alex during their time at Hof Kasselmann—Borja training and competing with the horses, while Alex co-organized shows and events. They quickly discovered a strong synergy, combining their skills and expertise to achieve the best possible results.
After the summer of 2015, Borja and Alex decided it was time to pursue their own dream and establish their own business in Krefeld, Germany. With the support and mentorship of Jean Bemelmans, they founded Carrascosa & Brenninkmeijer Dressage at the beautiful Gut Auric estate. CB Dressage is dedicated to training and developing exceptional dressage horses, guiding them from young horse classes to international Grand Prix level while carefully managing their careers in top-level sport.
Since its founding, Borja and Alex have successfully trained numerous horses to the highest levels and competed at some of the world's most prestigious dressage events, including Olympic Games and World Cup finals.
Supported by a young, motivated, and dedicated team, CB Dressage is committed to achieving top results in sport while ensuring that both their own and their clients' horses enjoy a balanced and happy athlete's life, with ample playtime in fields and paddocks. In May 2020, a lifelong dream came true with the acquisition of Gut Flamschen in Coesfeld, Germany. These state-of-the-art facilities allow CB Dressage to offer world-class training and top-tier services to both horses and clients, further strengthening their commitment to excellence in dressage.

Borja Carrascosa Martínez
Born in 1982 into a proud horse breeding family near Madrid, Borja grew up at Finca Los Lirios in Ávila—a renowned stud for Lusitano and Spanish sport horses. Taught by his parents from an early age, he quickly excelled in dressage, earning medals at Spanish Championships and a regular spot on the European Championship team during his Junior and Young Rider years.
As an adult, Borja clinched a silver medal at the 2009 Spanish Championships on Remigius and enjoyed continued success with both his own and client horses. In 2011, he moved to Germany to join Hof Kasselmann, where he swiftly became the head competition rider, dazzling audiences at national and international events. Under the guidance of Ulli and Bianca Kasselmann, as well as longtime mentor Jean Bemelmans, his skills flourished—and in 2012, he met Alex for the first time.
Regularly representing Spain, Borja has competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as World Cup finals and multiple CHIO Aachen Nation's Cups. His consistent excellence and knack for elevating new horses to the top sport have cemented his reputation as one of Spain's premier dressage riders.
Alexander Brenninkmeijer
Alex was born in 1987 in Madrid into a Dutch family and discovered his passion for horses early on. At just four, he began riding ponies and quickly became a determined show jumper. Although he competed in jumping events throughout his childhood and adolescence, he paused riding at 18 to focus on his studies.
After obtaining a professional degree in retail in Amsterdam, he went on to study International Business Management at ICADE in Madrid (Spain) and ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany). When finished with his Bachelor, Alex started working in Marketing for L'Oréal in Düsseldorf.
But still looking to pursue a life combining his passion for horses together with marketing and eventmanagement, he changed from L'Oréal in Düsseldorf to Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W., where he met Borja and was offered the possibility to work for one of the leading horse sport event organizers while being able to ride horses again - although in dressage rather than jumping. As part of the head organizing team at Hof Kasselmann Alex was co-responsible for events such as Horses & Dreams, Future Champions, the P.S.I. Auction and the ADC shows in Ankum, allowing him to build a great network in the horse sport world.
